ByteBlower

Its biggest assets at a glance

ByteBlower has a number of key benefits:

User-friendliness

ByteBlower is exceptionally user-friendly and can be controlled from any client desktop or laptop. The intuitive GUI has a low learning curve and quick setup times. The results of each test are presented in a clear, easy-to-use HTML or CSV file.

Performing a test takes 7 simple steps:

Increased efficiency

The command line interface, scripting language or LabView™ driver allow different levels of testing automation, which helps users save precious time.

Unlimited flexibility

ByteBlower allows an extensive range of tests in an all-in-one solution. Combining multiple protocols, latency and loss tests, TCP throughput tests, etc. can be done from one single point, with the flexibility of byte level analysis.

Maximum scalability

Whether you want to introduce new network technology or test thousands of devices at once, ByteBlower allows you to add new functionality or expand your testing environment with extra servers, easily and cost-effectively.

IP testing in no time

ByteBlower is delivered with a platform-independent API, developed for Tcl scripting. The API provides the full functionality of the ByteBlower GUI and allows the user to fine-tune the settings. For fast test development, a Tcl-based higher layer API is available, which includes both stateless (e.g. frame loss, latency, etc) and stateful testing (TCP/HTTP, etc).

Surprisingly low TCO

ByteBlower’s flexibility and scalability, its all-in-one approach and the off-the-shelf hardware make it a very cost-effective solution. In-house testing becomes feasible for smaller network operators and equipment testing labs. In addition, regular updates and upgrades make it a future-proof investment.

Time Synchronized

If required, the ByteBlower 2000 series can be synchronized ( pulse per second signal ) to perform distributed latency measurements.

Some additional features:

  • ByteBlower supports copper and optical Ethernet interfaces
  • Real-world network behavior on the transport layer
  • Fixed port addresses or dynamic addressing using DHCP
  • Scheduled execution using batches
  • Automated project creation using Wizards
  • High port density
  • Automatic frame creation and addressing or control at bit level
  • Full control of start and stop times of each flow
