ByteBlower goes multi-user

April 28, 2009 - Ghent (Belgium) - Excentis announces the immediate release of a new version of its traffic generator and analyzer ByteBlower®. The most important new feature of this new release enables different users to share the same chassis, making ByteBlower more flexible than ever before.

byteblower.gifThe rapid evolution of telecommunication technologies, protocols and services require up-to-date testing tools with a high level of flexibility. While flexibility commonly comes at a high price, ByteBlower offers it in a very cost-effective way.

With the new release multiple users can use the same traffic generator, while the performance of the system is guaranteed: overloading of the system is prevented and users cannot disturb each other's tests. This way multiple tests can be run at the same time using the same ByteBlower system, thus improving the efficiency of the lab.
The multi-user version of ByteBlower reduces the number of traffic generators required in the lab. Together with the already implemented feature  to combine different servers in one test, this new multi-user feature makes ByteBlower the ideal long-term solution that can grow together with the needs of your company.

Other improvements incorporated in the new version:

  • A faster communication protocol is used between the server and client, making the system more responsive.
  • The robustness of the ByteBlower performance has improved.
  • The GUI can automatically find all ByteBlower servers in your network.
  • The GUI indicates the IP version used in every flow, frame, ...
  • The API now supports Linux running on SPARC hardware.
