Traffic Testing for EuroDOCSIS 3.0 simplified

May 21, 2007 -- Ghent (Belgium) -- Excentis today announces that the ByteBlower® traffic generator lowers the time and effort needed to perform EuroDOCSIS 3.0 traffic testing.


The EuroDOCSIS 3.0 specifications provide various tools to enhance network functionality, including significantly increased capacity for IP-based traffic. This expansion in performance is needed in response to the emergence of online video, peer-to-peer applications, multi-player gaming, VoIP, commercial IP-based services and new, future service offerings.

This also increases the need for flexible test equipment and high-performance traffic generators. To reflect the growing size of real-life networks, the need for traffic generation ports is growing. Because of ByteBlower’s flexible and modular design, such large-scale testing can be done in an affordable way. ByteBlower’s scalability allows the addition of ByteBlower servers in the same set-up whenever there is a need for additional traffic ports.

Excentis can build upon a rich experience in problem solving and monitoring in real-life networks. This expertise has been used to create a flexible traffic generator. Not only stateless traffic generation, but also stateful testing with support for IPv6, source specific multicast, ... is possible.
